Fire Safety Training for Small Businesses

Fire Safety Training Course for Small Businesses

We've made our well established in-house company fire safety training course available as a public safety course in 2018, right throughout Munster.  Lasting 2 hours in total, this public course is ideally suited to small, medium sized companies who wish to train between 1 and 5 people to become fire wardens for their premises and who do not require bespoke in-house training.

Just like our in-house training, this fire training course is designed to help you to fulfill your responsibilities under The Fire Services Act 1981/2003.  On completion participants should be able to:

  • Identify fire hazards in your workplace
  • Understand the importance of fire prevention
  • Follow emergency and evacuation procedures
  • Select and use the appropriate fire fighting equipment

The course itself uses DVD presentation, lecture, group discussion with worksheets & question and answer sessions to ensure you leave us as a fire safety expert.

Key learning objectives include:

  • The Chemistry, Classes & Nature of Fire
  • Fire Prevention
  • Evacuation procedure
  • Types of extinguishers
  • Practical demonstration
  • And more!

"Staff from Down Syndrome Cork  & The Field of Dreams were delighted to receive Fire Safety Training recently from Willie O'Leary of Munster Fire & Safety.

This was a very informative session with information provided on all aspects of fire safety, from the correct use of fire protection equipment, to  safe evacuation procedures.  An informative video was played to highlight the causes of fires, and detailed explanation given on the various types of fire extinguishers and which are appropriate to use on what type of fire.

It was great that staff were once again familiarised with the location of all the fire safety equipment on our site, and trained how to use a fire extinguisher - this practical element of the training helped to reinforce the learning.

Overall staff were very pleased with this excellent presentation from Willie, and I regard the training as one of the most important 2 hours any organisation could spend.  I would highly recommend Munster Fire & Safety to provide this training to any organisation."
